'' Archery is a brilliant activity for achieving a high success rate in students who normally find endurance activities a challenge. It is therefore a wonderful opportunity for boosting self esteem and is easily adapted to suit people with disabilities.
It encourages students to be aware of their own and other peoples safety, to follow a strict regime and to practice precision. Doing Archery fills the participant with a sense of being a part of something from the past. For Robin Hood fans, it is a fantastic activity to live the dream.
The participants will have a qualified instructor with them at all times. They will firstly be briefed in the activity and be given instructions on how to set up the area. Team working in this instant will be required. It will also be necessary for the students to remember the strict rules and signals used in order to keep the activity safe.
The first half of the activity is aimed at teaching the participants how to shoot with the second half focusing on having a competition. This keeps the more active students focusing on the activity and instills a sense of competitiveness and pride within the group. ...''
