Course Description:

'' Private one-on-one tutor foreign language classes are provided by your teacher at your lodging. Teachers are highly trained professionals with years of experience in the teaching of their language to foreigners.

Lodging is in the homestays of native speakers with all meals provided. Only the target language is spoken in the homestay. Residences are typically outside of heavily touristed areas, in neighborhoods where the target language predominates.




Budapest is one of the few capitals in Europe with an active traditional music and folk dance scene. Young Hungarians are wildly enthusiastic about their folk music. A visit to a Dance House (Táncház) is one of the best ways to meet Hungarians and learn directly what it is that makes them so Hungarian.

Budapest is actually 2 cities Buda and Pest. Buda, Older than Pest, more conservative and residential, and notably devoid of decent bars, Buda is sort of disjointed. The Castle and Gellért Hills carve up the central area into a patchwork of separate parts.

To the north and west of the central area, smart residential districts amble up into still higher hills - green and spotted with villas in a way that, from a distance, is reminiscent of Los Angeles. Pest dates back to medieval times. It is relatively flat, which is in great contrast with the jagged hills of Buda. Many large bath houses still remain from the days of Turkish occupation of Hungary.

Homestudy Program Tutor 15, 20 or 25 hours per week. Students are placed in homestays for lodging and for language training. One or two students live with a qualified language instructor and learn a language in the home. Students are completely immersed in the foreign language and can take between 15 and 25 hours of instruction per week. One excursion per week chosen by the tutor but without extra charge.

All teachers have the highest possible qualifications which ensure that they are professional, and above all trained to teach. Every single teacher holds a teaching certificate recognized by their own authorities or a University degree or equivalent accepted by the private sector.

Note: If two students are studying in the home, they must have similar language proficiency.




Homestudy + Activities Program Tutor 15, 20 or 25 hours per week. The Homestudy + Activities Program is available for the same price of the Homestudy Program. In this program, the student receives fewer language lessons than the Homestudy Program, but the hours missed are replaced by an activities program. Activities may consist of excursions, sports or cultural activities with an adult member of the host family. The student is free to choose the activities that interest him/her in advance or may consult with the tutor about specific activities upon arrival.

The student must pay for all expenses, including all entrance fees & bus or train tickets for both him/herself and the tutor or member of the tutor’s family accompanying him/her. Similarly, in the case of sports such as tennis, golf or horse riding, the student must pay for him/herself and the tutor or family member accompanying him/her.

Note: This program cannot always be guaranteed, especially if it is a late registration or if the student places restrictions on the type of family selected (children of the same age, vegetarian, non smoker, centre of town etc.). If two students are studying in the home, they must have similar language proficiency.
