Training Course:

Cisco Unity Design and Networking (CUDN)

School/Trainer:

Convergent Communications, Inc.
Silver Spring, MD, United States

Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced

Course Description:

'' Cisco Unity Design and Networking (CUDN) is an advanced course for engineers responsible for the design of sustainable complex Unity solutions based upon customer requirements. Upon completion of this course, you should have a higher degree of confidence that the designs you provide for your customers meet the criteria of being sustainable and reducing post-deployment support requirements.

CUDN begins by reviewing the active directory, messaging, and phone switch components that shape the design of a Unity solution. Following this review students are provided an explanation of how an existing infrastructure impacts a large voicemail-only design, providing design rules to follow.

Rules for four key deployment models are defined which include: centralized call processing with centralized messaging (CCP-CM), centralized call processing with distributed messaging (CCP-DM), distributed call processing with centralized messaging (DCP-CM), and distributed call processing with distributed messaging (DCP-DM).

The final portion of the class focuses on design with coverage on repeatable design methodology that will assist in creating sustainable solutions, design solutions to meet special customer requests, and rules for designing a solution that must interoperate with legacy voicemail.

Course Objectives

After completing this course the student should be able to:

Explain the impact of different messaging environments (Domino/MS) upon a Unity design
Design a large voicemail solution
Network Unity with legacy voicemail systems
Explain approved Cisco Unity deployment models
Apply a repeatable design methodology
Design solutions that meet specific customer needs
Design solutions that interoperate with legacy voicemail system
