Course Description:
'' This course will provide the student with an understanding of learning models and the impact technology can have towards enhancing and enriching the learning process. The primary focus will be the application of teaching and learning strategies that integrate technology as a vehicle in the differentiation of curriculum. Using technology tools for solving a variety of problems, evaluating student performance, and implementing distance-learning systems will also be explored.

Identify brain-based/cognitive learning models. Explain how technology can support the implementation of these models into the classroom. Examine the National Educational Technology Standards for Students and Teachers. Historical Development of Technology
Relate the development of early data processing devices to the modern computer era. Basic Technology Operations and Concepts
Demonstrate a sound understanding of the terminology of technology systems including hardware and software. Apply strategies for identifying and solving routine technology problems. Internet Fundamentals
Examine the evolution of the Internet. Alter the Web browser by changing the preferences and/or options. Examine the use of favorites (bookmarks) and bookmark folders. Define terminology specific to telecommunications. The Internet as a Communications and Research Tool
Analyze personal communication uses of the Internet and the use of educational e-mail lists (listservs).
