'' In order to survive in today’s competitive global software development economy, software project managers must embrace new approaches to software development. This course examines the value of systems thinking and shows how object-oriented programming can be used successfully. First learn how to use objects to model real-world systems, how to recognize the limitations of traditional software development techniques, and how to identify the intrinsic advantages of Java and other OO-based languages. Then examine UML and CORBA to learn about object-oriented, distributed, cooperative systems and system security. ...''
