'' In this short, full-time program, participants focus on improving speaking and listening skills while increasing vocabulary and fluency. Topics are inspired by current language teaching approaches, methods and practices and designed for students�interests and needs. This program is designed for English teachers with high-intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
Participants are encouraged to self-reflect and think critically (i.e. analyze, evaluate, problem-solve) through a variety of activities such as group discussions, oral-presentations, role-plays, debates, forums, field-trips, and guest speaker presentations/workshops. Participants learn through multiple modes of media (i.e. video, audio, computer software).
The overall goals of the course are
to enhance skills and confidence in oral/aural English communication,
to increase knowledge of English language teaching and learning, research and practices, from a Canadian perspective, and
to encourage reflective professional development practices. ...''
