Gain practical, hands-on experience writing database queries that retrieve, organize, and summarize data managed by an Adaptive Server. Learn to construct simple and complex queries using both ANSI-89 standard SQL and Transact-SQL extensions.
Course Objectives :
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
Describe the basic concepts surrounding a relational database
Access an Adaptive Server database using ASE client software
Write a simple query that returns data from a database
Write a qualified query that returns a specific subset of information
Use aggregates to perform mathematical analyses of data
Query data from more than one table using joins
Query data from more than one table using subqueries

Relational database concepts, client/server architecture, simple queries (queries that retrieve all data from a given table), queries (queries that retrieve only data that matches a given condition), aggregates (simple functions that summarize data), joins (queries that retrieve data from multiple tables), and subqueries (queries nested inside other queries). ...''
