Course Description:

'' Gain an introduction to and familiarity with the implementation of Mode-2 high availability, a high availability architecture [also called distributed workloads] in which disjoint applications can run on each of the nodes of a cluster. When one node fails, the surviving node takes over its workload avoiding the "e-nightmare" of lost data access during planned or unplanned server downtime. Use Adaptive Server Enterprise 12.0’s companion server functionality to provide continuous data availability during planned and unplanned outages. With a focus on installation and configuration, implement ASE on cluster subsystems and become familiar with the facilities and features used to enable database and client connection failover and failback.
Course Objectives :
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

Install high availability functionality

Plan for configuration requirements of companion servers

Configure companion servers

Test failover between companion servers
