Explore how to optimize queries and indexes to achieve optimal query processing by thoroughly understanding the principles of the Sybase IQ runtime engines. This will allow you to better design indexes & queries that run optimally in your own environment. Use the Index Advisor and monitoring tools to troubleshoot and repair inefficient and ineffective queries. You will then learn how to read and interpret Query Timing Diagrams and Query Plans to troubleshoot your queries or indexes.

Design and implement indexes that are efficient & effective
Read Query Plans and illustrate how the nodes of query plans affect query processing, including joins & group by nodes
Explain how the query engine processes queries
