Training Course:Fast Track to RFID Anywhere 3.0School/Trainer:Sybase, Inc. Ottawa, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' RFID Anywhere integrates business logic and processes with a variety of automatic data collection and sensor technologies, including passive and active RFID readers, RFID printers, barcode scanners, mobile devices, PLCs, location tracking systems, environmental sensors and feedback mechanisms. This powerful software infrastructure simplifies the development, deployment, configuration and management tasks for highly distributed, multi-site, intelligent sensor networks, and abstracts the interaction with the network of devices. Learn how sensors are able to work together as an intelligent network by combining, organizing and coordinating these technologies through RFID Anywhere’s common management structure, advanced feature set and event-driven development framework.
This comprehensive, 3 day training course is designed for all Auto-ID professionals, systems integrators, developers, engineers and users to gain critical knowledge and skills to utilize RFID Anywhere to plan, develop, deploy, manage and maintain sensor networks. Hands-on, developer focused, the course assumes you have working knowledge of the Auto-ID industry and solutions to the challenges associated with adopting Auto-ID technology. It begins with the installation of RFID Anywhere and then moves to a series of lectures and hands-on labs covering the key features of the RFID Anywhere 3.0 platform.
Using an inventory tracking use case/scenario, you will gain the knowledge and develop the skills necessary to employ RFID Anywhere in your customersenvironments or in your enterprise. You will build an inventory tracking solution from the ground up, taking data from a simulated RFID reader, decoding the raw tag data, processing that data and outputting the data to reports and an enterprise application. Utilizing the power of .Net and the RFID Anywhere Visual Studio .Net Extensions, you will also learn how to customize business modules to obtain user defined information at runtime, use remoting to call methods from another business module, expose methods in business modules as web services, and debug business modules. Additionally, you will learn how to effectively use declarative tools such ALE Event Cycles and Report Engine MP (Multiprotocol).
Other topics include RFID Anywhere’s support for mobile devices, enabling reader coordination to ensure the optimal performance of readers and antennas in dense reader environments, and for readers that support General Purpose Input Output (GPIO). Learn how RFID Anywhere interfaces with the GPIO ports on the device to enable process automation. Additionally, you will gain exposure to RFID Anywhere’s Label Designer which is used to design the layout of RFID labels.
The Enterprise Manager will enable you to manage and maintain your sensor network. You will also learn how to use RFID Anywhere Location Information System (LIS) to integrate and combine a variety of technologies including Passive/Active RFID, Real Time Location Systems (RTLS), positioning engines, barcode, environmental sensors and others to locate and track assets. With LIS, you will be able to integrate RTLS data/events into RFID Anywhere’s event driven architecture, calibrate locations and associate fixed data sources with coordinates, persist, query and represent location of assets. ...''
