'' In terms of business operations ‘knowledge management�encompasses all corporate content and information systems as well as data structures and systems�integration. The concept behind the study involves collection and accessibility to all available digital information. The company then uses superior analysis and evaluation tools to create processes that make it smarter at every level. This ‘smartness�allows the company to make rapid decisions based upon factual evidence substantially increasing its competitive advantage in the marketplace. Therefore understanding and executing proven km strategies is the essential component in creating “learning organizations� These entities strive continually to get smarter about their work, their markets, their products and their customers. In this course you learn about the thinking and techniques regarding the use of ‘enterprise�information (knowledge) in achieving significant business objectives. Course topics include understanding the components of knowledge, where to find them and how these affect the organization; techniques used to optimize knowledge transfer; understanding data and databases; data-mining and data warehousing; creating a plan for managing knowledge for the benefit of the organization; and how to execute an overall knowledge management strategy using best-practices to achieve operational excellence.
