'' This course is an overview of the fundamentals of financial administration. Emphasis is on using financial thought and decision-making skills to understand a firm’s working capital management, short-term and long-term financing policies, and special topics in the field of financial management.

Time Value of Money, Valuation, and Rates of Return

Calculate present value and future value for single amounts, annuities, and uneven streams of cash flow.
List various financial applications of the time value of money.
Explain the concept of yield to maturity.
Calculate the value of and required rates of return for bonds, preferred stocks, and common stocks under alternative scenarios.
Capital Budgeting and Risk

Describe the importance and role of capital budgeting in organizations.
Estimate the relevant after-tax cash flow of a project.
Make capital budgeting decisions utilizing various capital budgeting models.
Incorporate risk techniques into capital budgeting decisions.
Cost of Capital, Dividends, and Derivatives

Calculate an organization’s Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC).
Determine the organization’s optimal capital structure.
Relate the organizations cost of capital to the capital budgeting decision-making process.
Analyze dividend policy strategies in relation to maximizing shareholder wealth.
Describe the various types and uses of derivatives.

Describe the characteristics of various debt and equity instruments.
