'' Gain a deeper understanding of the data structures inside Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 12.5.0.1 and how they are allocated and de-allocated. This expert-level course gets you “under the hood�and exposes you to in-depth technical detail. Use this knowledge to prevent potential problems from database corruption and to reduce time working with Sybase Technical Support. Troubleshoot, recognize, locate, and resolve corruption problems to save time and data. Learn to read and understand the contents of the transaction log and troubleshoot full logs. Understand the implications for performance, logging, and recovery. Possible database corruption, potential resolutions, and tradeoffs are discussed. Learn how to use Sybase utilities to troubleshoot the server. Lab time covers many dbcc commands and is used to troubleshoot the server for various types of database corruption.

Understand the inner workings of Adaptive Server data structures
Use dbcc to discover potential data corruption problems
Identify and resolve different types of data corruption
Understand how transactions are logged and troubleshoot full logs
