Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' Learn essential skills; develop professional relationships Become an effective communicator. Your first assignment in HM150: Health Politics and Policy will be to write a senator or member of Congress and ask for a statement of that representative’s health care policy plan. From that time forward, in every Health Care Management class, you will communicate as if addressing a board of directors or policy-making committee.
Benefit from a mentoring relationship. Early in your college work, you will establish a relationship with a mentor and choose electives to support your area of focus in integrated health systems (IHS). Many students enter the Bachelor’s in Health Care Management program with previous experience and degrees in information technology, business, accounting, health sciences and other areas.
Develop a professional network. You will have the opportunity to meet with members of the GU/MSB Health Care Management Advisory Board and begin to build a network of professional relationships. Members represent industry leaders, including Park Nicollet, Allina, Health Partners, Optum, Kurt Salmon Associates, LifeScan ( Johnson and Johnson Company), Jenkins Consulting, Life Source and Personal Dynamic Resources Insurance.
Practice your skills in the field. The program’s capstone course provides you with the opportunity to practice and demonstrate your skills. Subject to approval, you may complete your capstone course requirements by completing an externship, a project management experience, developing a business plan, or completing a major research paper.
