'' This course focuses on maintaining independence and wellness for individuals across the lifespan. It addresses normal growth and development, normal aging, and consideration for vulnerable populations with special needs, disabilities and illness; and emphasizes the role of the nurse in assisting individuals to maximize independence and quality of life. Students review access to care and referrals to appropriate resources. The course also introduces the role of the nurse as a change agent in healthcare systems and delivery of care.
