Course Description:

'' The Creative Editing Workshop with Avid is a four-day class providing the opportunity to put the editing tools and functions you’ve learned into practice.

The workshop gives real-life editing projects to students that wish to improve their creative skills, learn new aesthetic principles, and exercise their growing knowledge of using Avid Media Composer/Symphony.

Students will spend substantial time actually working with real-life footage along with guidelines but also with a large amount of personal creative freedom. An experienced and highly-credited editor/instructor is there at all times, to discuss editing aesthetics, techniques, procedures �to review which buttons to push and to help with the creative process. At the end of each project, the entire class participates in giving comments and providing feedback. This approach supplies new perspectives into ways to editing both technically and aesthetically, as well as providing a grounded reflection of the true audience appreciation of one’s work.

The projects use real-life footage and cover necessary editing skills and techniques like cutting dialog, action, and montage as well as editing with and without sound.

If you’d like to test your skills before you enter the marketplace and/or grow exponentially in your creative skills as an editor, this is the hands-on class for you.
