Training Course:TESOL (Certificate)School/Trainer:Monterey Institute of International Studies Monterey, California, United States
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' The certificates are Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Teaching a Foreign Language (TFL). They are for people who are not seeking a masters degree or who want to supplement a masters degree.
For those who are not seeking a masters degree, the TESOL or TFL Certificate is a 17-credit certificate program. It can be completed in two part-time semesters or in one spring semester plus a transferred course. Entrance requirements are the same as those for the MATESOL/MATFL programs.
Students who complete a masters degree may pursue a 14-credit certificate in teaching another language. For example, a student completing an MA in TESOL may wish to add a TFL certificate in teaching Japanese, or a student completing a degree in the teaching of French may want to add a TESOL certificate to their professional qualifications.
The certificates provide sufficient practical experience to pursue entry-level teaching opportunities in the following areas: the United States or abroad, adult language programs, independent language schools, or as private tutors. ...''
