Course Description:

'' The NEBOSH National General Certificate is a qualification designed to help those with health and safety responsibilities (eg. managers, supervisors and employee representatives) to discharge more effectively their organisational duties and functions. The course leads to the award of the National General Certificate. No previous health and safety knowledge is required but students must be able to write short reports.

This course can be tailored and delivered in company.
Course Objectives
The duration of study for the National General Certificate is a minimum of 87 hours plus private study and background reading. The syllabus is divided into three parts:

Part A1 The management of safety

Part A2 The identification and control of hazards

Part B The practical assessment
Assessment is by an end examination comprising two written papers (Papers A1 and A2) and a practical assessment (Part B). The practical assessment consists of carrying out a safety inspection of a workplace and preparing a management report.

Examination details
The examination is held nationally four times a year and comprises two 2-hour written papers (Papers A1 and A2) and a practical assessment (Part B). Some centres may also offer ’local’ examinations, set and marked by NEBOSH, but on a date of their choice. Each written paper consists of one ’long-answer’ question and ten ’short-answer’ questions. All questions are compulsory. The practical assessment is arranged by the centre, marked by our staff and moderated by NEBOSH. ...''
