'' The process of creation is essentially messy, and with the disorder and chaos on hand, the graphic designer is always the casualty. The Advanced Publication Design is a master class that enables the participants to have the right tools for every creative challenge they are confronted with.
By the end of the course, the participant will be able to learn how to conceptualize, organize, and execute an effective, smart and eye-catching design project based on the editorial brief provided by the instructor and the market forces that determine its direction. This three-day course is also a capacity building workshop where the participants can bring their own works to class for discussion and critique. Real-life publication success and failures are also discussed.
What will be covered
The Design Brief: The heart and soul of a concept; it will help streamline ideas that focus on the design solution rather than the problem.
Organizing information: Handling volatile materials like text and photos; and also
time-tables, work-flows and bosses;
Imagination and Reason: Executing designs with the right tools; the template, the
grid, typeface, color and image that are persuasive and effective.
