'' This course trains the student in the art of pre production. The basic requirement for undergoing this course is good art knowledge, a strong sense of design and a keen sense of observation. Being a very intensive course, a strong motivation to improve and a lot of interest in the various art forms is a must along with a mind to apply technology to art. An added plus point in pursuing this course would be a good reading habit.
The total duration of the course is 12 months.
The initial 6 months will be devoted to conceptual design, character design, environment design and property design. The initial two weeks of this phase will be devoted to improving the student’s skills in basic art and providing an understanding of what goes into Pre-production work. Following this the studies will start with conceptual design. The studies will require the students to work on both natural medium and digital medium. The digital medium will include digital 2D art (Corel Painter, Photoshop) and 3D art (Maya and ZBrush). Introductory sessions in the interface of these software will be provided followed by application of that knowledge into the design aspects.
The next 4 months will cover aspects of film making relating to sequential art, story boarding, sound track recording, layout and art direction. This stage will again require the students to work in both the natural and digital medium. Apart from the concepts the students will also be introduced to Storyboard Pro, Sound Forge and Adobe Premier. The major focus at this stage is on film language.
During the last two months the students will have to participate in a project and create a complete design set for a given concept.
END RESULT:
At the end of the course the students come out with:
1) A Diploma in Design for Animation Film Making.
2) A professional portfolio and work presentation.
3) Proven proficiency in Designing for Animation Films.
4) An understanding about the business of Animation Film Making.
