Course Description:
'' The only program of its kind in Malaysia, taught by lecturers who are competent in the subject, including external lecturers with ample experience in the private sector. In addition, students have the option of taking elective courses from the University’s MBA program.
The coursework provides a sound theoretical foundation and equips students with conceptual and analytical skills in science policy, planning and management. The project paper provides an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the coursework to a particular problem of the student’s choice. All in all, the course provides an excellent preparation for a career in Science and Technology policy, planning and management.
The course objectives are to examine the characteristics of science, technology and innovation and their relation to the economy, industry, environment and society. It also provides an understanding of the historical and philosophical dimensions of science relevant to science policy. The programme will produce graduates who are able to examine the social, intellectual and economic factors that influence the use (and abuse) of science and technology, and provide the necessary conceptual and analytical skills in science and technology management and planning. ...''
