Course Description:

'' The aim of this course is about learning how to care for young children in the home and how to be a good parent.

HOW IS THE COURSE ORGANISED?
This course is offered as a one-year full time programme, running for three days per week. The course runs at the Hub site of Doncaster College, beginning in September.

A college attendance rate of 80% also applies, if your attendance falls below this it is unlikely that you will pass the course.

It consists of three units. Each Unit has three tasks, you must pass all the tasks to gain the full certificate. The Units are:
Pregnancy and the Responsible Parent
Caring for Young Children 0-3years 11 months
Play and Learning in the Home 0-3 years 11 months


These assignments have hand in dates set by the exam board which must be strictly adhered to.

Basic Skills in Numeracy and Literacy and Personal and Professional Development classes are an integral part of the course.

Successful completion of all units at Distinction level, may enable candidates to progress to the Foundation Award in Caring for Children. Students will be expected to apply through the usual application process.
