Course Description:
'' This course focuses on the skills needed to respond to a medical emergency in the wilderness. It is specifically designed for people who work and play where medical assistance is likely to be delayed in an emergency. The class includes basic anatomy, comprehensive patient evaluation, practical treatment, long term monitoring and evacuation. Presented material will be practices during many realistic scenarios throughout the course. This course meets and exceeds standard guidelines set by the Wilderness Medical Society and meets the Grand Canyon guide licensing requirements. Students will recieve a Wilderness First Responder certification from the River Skills Center good for two years and an American Heart Association CPR card, good for two years. ...''
