Training Course:Technology Management (Master Degree)School/Trainer:Sprott School of Business Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online/Live | On-site/In-house | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' The Technology Management concentration gives students the knowledge to compete in a dynamic global world where technology-infused processes and services are essential to delivering competitive advantage.
Advanced technologies provide the platform for the conduct of contemporary business. From design to service delivery, most processes carried out in organizations are supported by the application of sophisticated information, communications, and production technologies.
While the effective development and use of these technologies can provide extraordinary value to companies, they also present significant adoption, deployment, and exploitation challenges.
The technologies themselves are evolving rapidly and are in a constant state of flux. Organizations must address the challenge of integrating the technologies to create an efficient and effective execution platform, while at the same time dynamically responding and adapting to the demands of the business environment in which they operate. This requires knowledgeable and skilled management.
The Technology Management concentration focuses on two key areas:
engineering services, and information technology service management (ITSM). Engineering services include those services related to product design, product development, prototyping, technical consulting, and quality control. This focus is targeted to managers working in technology producing firms who are accountable for the complex network of activities associated with product design, development, and delivery.
ITSM addresses issues and challenges in managing complex IT service design, implementation and delivery. The ITSM focus is targeted to managers in business firms, governments, and consulting organizations that are responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient and effective IT services.
