Enterprise Architecture is the practice of applying a comprehensive and rigorous method for describing a current and future system and behavior for an organizations processes, information systems, personnel and organization, so that they align with the organizations core goals and strategic direction.
Enterprise architecture is a fully integrated collection of models and documents across four key architecture domains: Business, Information, Systems and Technology. Developing an Enterprise Architecture produces an organizational blueprint that can help improve business quality, efficiency and accountability.
A great benefit of using Enterprise Architecture is that by defining the business�architecture, we are able to identify gaps and eliminate redundancies. This ensures cohesiveness, correctness and completeness in the model and therefore in the business, which is critical for success.
An Enterprise Architecture includes:
Models of business processes (BPMN), information, systems, and technology Descriptions of graphical and textual artifacts that make up these models Full traceability to the goals and objectives of the organization Standards that underpin the content and presentation of the architecture Guidance to facilitate the cohesiveness, correctness, and completeness of the model. ...''
