Course Description:

'' Changes in foreign exchange rates can dramatically affect the cost of a purchase made in a foreign currency, or can turn a profitable sale into a losing one. Similarly, floating interest rates can expose an organization to unexpected interest costs if rates go up. There are many financial instruments available that enable an organization to hedge against unfavourable foreign currency and interest rate moves, but they are complex and not commonly known. This course provides you with a detailed description of the most common hedging instruments, and teaches you how to use them to protect your organization. The emphasis is on description and application rather than theoretical pricing models.

This course is an excellent precursor to Organizational Treasury Policy (SMS861)
