'' The Management Development Program for Women (MDPW), is designed for highly motivated women who wish to develop management skills they can use immediately in a practical work environment. It has been offered since 1992 by the Centre for Research and Education on Women and Work (CREWW), Sprott School of Business, Carleton University.
The integrated courses in this program concentrate on:
the development of a broad understanding of the principles and functions of management, and the improvement of management skills through self-assessment, practice and feedback. Objectives
The objective of the Management Development Program for Women is to provide management education, which combines theory with practice and reflects the actual world of management. The target audience is working women who are managers or are about to become managers.
The program is designed to facilitate the transfer of learning from the classroom to the workplace. Workplace based assignments require participants to integrate new theories and skills with data and experience drawn from the participant’s own work setting.
Participants must be sponsored for admission to the program. Sponsors are encouraged to become partners in the learning process.
