'' The PCST Certificate consists of the following two modules:
1. Groundwork in Written Translation To fulfill the module requirement, five (5) core curriculum courses and one (1) language elective course should be completed.
i. FIVE Core Curriculum Courses: Arabic Editing Skills Lexicography and Terminology Translation Linguistics Contrastive Analysis Research Tools for Translators
ii. ONE elective language course chosen from the following: Arabic Grammar Introduction to Translation: French/Arabic/French Introduction to Translation 1 �German/ Arabic German Level 1 �4 German Level 5 �6 Spanish Level 1 �5 French Level 1- 8
2. Developing Skills in Screen Translation There are three options for this module:
i. Dual Concentration Option To fulfill the certificate requirements, six (6) mandatory courses and one (1) elective course should be completed. Courses Required: - Subtitling into Arabic - Subtitling into English - Project �Arabic - Project - English - Subtitling Practicum �Arabic - Subtitling Practicum �English
ONE elective course chosen from the following: - Newspaper Translation into Arabic - Newspaper Translation into English - Translating Speeches - Manuscript Editing - Topics into Arabic I - Topics into English I - Newspaper Translation - French/Arabic/French - Introduction to Translation 2 - German/ Arabic - German Level 1 �4 - German Level 5 �6 - Spanish Level 1 �5 - French Level 1 �8
ii. Screen Translation into Arabic (STA) Option To fulfill the certificate requirements, five (5) mandatory courses and two (2) elective courses should be completed. Courses Required: - Subtitling into Arabic - Subtitling Practicum �Arabic - Topics into Arabic I - Topics into Arabic II - Project �Arabic
Two elective courses chosen from the following: - Newspaper Translation into Arabic - Newspaper Translation into English - Translating Speeches - Manuscript Editing - Topics into Arabic I - Topics into English I - Newspaper Translation French/Arabic/French - Introduction to Translation 2 - German/Arabic - German Level 1 - 4 - German Level 5 �6 - Spanish Level 1 �5 - French Level 1- 8
iii. Screen Translation into English (STE) Option To fulfill the certificate requirements, five (5) mandatory courses and two (2) elective courses should be completed. Courses Required: - Subtitling into English - Subtitling Practicum �English - Topics into English I - Topics into English II - Project �English
