'' This instructor-led course is designed for MySQL users who would like to use User-defined functions. This course provides in-depth information in a “virtual�classroom format that is easily accessible and affordable.

At the completion of this course, you should be able to:
Understand the key concepts of functions in general
Know the different kinds of functions in the MySQL database, their differences and similarities
The advantages and disadvantages of User-defined functions as compared to stored SQL functions
Understand and use the UDF intereface
Create UDF implementation functions using the C language
Compile UDFs into a dynamically loadable library
Correctly deploy and undeploy a UDF library, including (de)registering the UDFs contained therein
Understand and predict the calling sequence of UDF implementation functions
Understand the effect of the optimizer on the calling sequence
Understand and use UDF dataflow
Make UDFs return values of various types
Handle UDF arguments
Employ error handling to validate arguments and signal error conditions
Create and use aggregate UDFs ...''
