Course Description:

'' Lean processes have been used in Manufacturing for many years to remove waste and drive the progress towards world class performance of leading companies such as Toyota and BMW. Construction may be a different industry with different methods of working but there are many opportunities for applying the lean approaches. Where Lean has been applied in construction, it has achieved substantial improvements in performance and other less tangible but real benefits in both construction and pre-construction.
This course provides an overview of Lean principles, processes and techniques, explores opportunities for applying Lean throughout the design and construction phases and gives guidance on setting up a Lean programme.

Learning outcomes:
After the course delegates should be able to:

Explain the principles of Lean and Lean Construction
Apply some simple Lean tools to in the workplace
Establish a Lean Construction improvement programme.
