'' Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP) will be introduced in April 2008, with the aim of reducing the amount of waste produced on construction sites and preventing fly-tipping. Learning Outcomes: This training course will enable delegates to identify the various waste streams arising out of their projects and the measures they need to take to increase re-use and recycling rates, to help reduce their organisations environmental impact.
Aims & Objectives: On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
1. Understand their own and other individuals legal responsibilities relating to the SWMP process. 2. Define the options available for recycling and reuse of various waste streams. 3. Understand the influence of good planning and design on site waste reduction. 4. Avoid pitfalls when selecting waste contractors. 5. Administer a suitable waste management programme.
