'' The course is designed for managers, surveyors, engineers and those who are involved in surveying, setting out and establishing survey control. The programme is suitable for those who have survey experience and require an appreciation of current and potential applications of Global Positioning Systems. A discussion of GPS applications to meet the needs of attending delegates will be undertaken.
Course Objectives: On completion of the course delegates will be able to:-
Understand the principle of GPS. Be aware of the basics of geodesy and coordinate systems. Be aware of the wide range of GPS applications. Understand the source of errors applying to GPS. Understand the principles and practice of different modes of GPS survey. Plan for GPS work. Use hand held (3m - 10m accuracy) GPS equipment. Record results to obtain a set of coordinates.
