Course Description:

'' This is an entry-level course designed to introduce theoretical and practical aspects of electronic music, including audio and MIDI sequencing, digital notation, sampling, digital sound recording, editing, and processing. Students will examine key software pieces and hardware packages in detail, by creating musical examples in class. Similar musical exercises will be assigned to students as homework, and will be discussed during the following class. We will listen to variety of relevant music examples throughout the course and the instructor will occasionally suggest or require a reading or give out a listening assignment. Group discussions will be encouraged, as will collaboration among students. Students will get hands-on training with the technology covered in the course. ...''
