Course Description:
'' This exciting expedition has a sailing and marine ecology focus. You and 10 other co-ed students will be trained in the fundamentals of seamanship including chart reading, navigation and sail theory. You’ll learn to set up tarps, handle an oar, read a compass, cook afloat, and set anchor. You’ll spend 14 days exploring miles of Massachusetts Bay, from the Boston Harbor Islands to the shores of Cape Ann. Challenge yourself on the 62 Alpine Tower on the Thompson Island Challenge Course. Students learn environmental stewardship, visit the Maritime Heritage Center in Gloucester, whale watch with an interpretive naturalist, and explore the ecology and natural history of Massachusetts Bay. ...''
