Course Description:
'' This course aims to extend the skills of engineers, scientists and technologists so you can carry out calculations and process data more effectively using Microsoft Excel. It is based on practical examples and concentrates on applications likely to be of use in technical situations. Most of the course is hands-on time on PCs, exploring a series of examples with guidance from experienced users.
Who should attend? This course is designed for engineers, scientists and technologists who already have a basic knowledge of spreadsheets but know that they are not making full use of the software.
Learning outcomes By the end of this course, you will be: - able to solve a wider range of problems using spreadsheets - more efficient and accurate when using spreadsheets - able to better document your spreadsheets.
Content - Significant changes from previous versions of Excel - Functions including If, Vlookup, matrix formulae, user-defined functions - Creating and copying charts - Using Solver for optimisation and curve fitting - Effective tools for documenting, formatting and protecting spreadsheets - Debugging tools, avoiding and using circular references - Tables - data sorting, filters, pivot tables ...''
