Understanding and Managing Workplace Stress Workshop

School/Trainer:

The University of Auckland Business School
Christchurch, New Zealand

Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online/Live | On-site/In-house | Blended | Self-paced

Course Description:

'' As individuals we are all adopting, either through coercion or choice, more complex environments. This increased complexity is occurring in personal, social and vocational spheres. The way we react to, and interpret, our environment is largely governed by our perceptual process. A common response to increased complexity is stress. Stress leads to emotional responses, which in turn impair rational decision-making processes. Managing and understanding the causes for stress in employees is critical to ensure they achieve their highest potential. This course focuses on discussing and understanding the perceptual process and how this process can lead to stress and negative emotional reactions. Techniques for understanding and managing employees in this context are presented. This workshop encompasses a combination of psychometric assessment, traditional teaching and behavioural simulations.

This course will benefit individuals who are responsible for the management of others in their organisation. Those who attend will gain an understanding of what influences perceptual processes and how employee emotionality can impair rational decision-making.
