'' Good management of difficult situations leads to the sound on-going workplace relationships that are essential for successful organisations. In this course, you will be asked to use your own experiences of difficult situations and through peer discussion and rehearsal, you will begin to appreciate factors about your work settings, yourself and your relationships with others that contribute to a difficult situation. You will also learn how to manage your emotions and behaviours at these times. This is a small group workshop in a confidential setting. For maximum benefit, this course should be taken in conjunction with Communications Skills for Team Work.
Who should attend? This course is designed for those who work closely with others and who wish to improve their performance in difficult situations by understanding how to manage the various factors that can produce a counter-productive flashpoint.
Learning outcomes By the end of this course, you will have learned simple models for: - analysing tricky situations - deciding whether or not to become involved - identifying personal blocks to open communication - analysing the relative power of your position - giving effective feedback - managing conflict.
