'' Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) are electronic systems that use a variety of advanced technology sensors, communications systems, computer algorithms and traveler interfaces to improve the performance of the transportation system for operators and users.

This course is designed to introduce potential ITS careers to undergraduate students in civil engineering, computer science, computer and electrical engineering, and industrial engineering.

Explain the basic functions of ITS.
Illustrate the engineering building blocks used to design ITS systems.
Recognize the application of engineering disciplines to the development of ITS systems.
