Course Description:
'' Explore the safe, nontoxic, versatile, and fun medium of acrylics. This course focuses on how to create different surface textures and demonstrates how to achieve a variety of painterly techniques using acrylic paints and various acrylic mediums. Although not exclusively an abstract painting course, the techniques covered should appeal to students wanting to explore more abstract possibilities in their painting. Through demonstrations and short assignments, students create a variety of impasto textures, use masking and stencils, learn how to incorporate collage elements, and try their hand at painting with tools other than a brush. ...''
