Course Description:
'' This course explores in greater depth the creation and control of artificial light in the context of professional photography. The focus is on using lighting to emphasize or hide aspects of the subject or the environment. The choices available include the use of strobe and hot lights, using multiple light sources, mixing strobe and ambient, creating color, and adding motion to still images. Students learn to master the decision-making process in order to choose the most effective alternative for each new situation they encounter. The final project consists of a five-image essay, on one person, rendered in five very different styles, through the use of different lighting techniques. ...''
