Course Description:
'' The classic actor was designed to give actors an understanding of the elements taught in our Full Time Program.
This class was born out of a suggestion from one of our part time students, Katie Bennison, who needed "more" from her classes. We are always happy to provide "more" to our students.
These classes are very popular. Please book well ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
You will study:
VOICE 4 Weeks: Trish Allen
One of Canada’s top voice coaches, Trish is also an accomplished actor and director. She is a caring instructor who works regularly in film and television. Recent film and TV highlights include THE L WORD and SHOOTER with Marc Wahlberg and Danny Glover.
PHYSICAL THEATRE 4 Weeks: Liz McLaughlin
Liz has been a member of the Vancouver film and television scene for the last 10 years appearing in CRIMINAL MINDS, SMALLVILLE, MASTERS OF HORROR, DEAD ZONE, MILLENNIUM, BREAKING NEWS, THE OUTER LIMITS and SLEEPWALKERS just to name a few. She is a dedicated and respected instructor who has a Masters degree in theatre.
CHARACTER 4 Weeks: Gabriel Carter
Gabriel comes to Schoolcreative after working at the much-lauded Stella Adler Conservatory in NYC. He has worked as a Voice Over Director with luminaries like Ally Sheedy, Anthony Arkin, Billy Crudup and Mary Stuart Masterson just to name a few.
SCENE STUDY 4 Weeks: Stellina Rusich
A Leo nominated actor Stellina is an accomplished performer who has worked with the best - Ray Liotta, Linda Fiorentino, Mickey Rooney, Danny Aiello, Tony Shalhoub (Monk). Stellina is an in demand director for theatre, has directed second unit for film, composed for theatre (she’s a pianist) and co-produced the feature LITTLE BOY BLUES.
COLD READING ON CAMERA 4 Weeks: Henry Mah
Henry is a respected member of the Vancouver Film community who has been a leader of The Mastery For Actors for many years. He started in stand up but is now laughing all the way to the bank in comedies like SCARY MOVIE 4 and the acclaimed series ALIENS IN AMERICA.
SCENE STUDY/CAMERA 4 Weeks: David Richmond-Peck & Kelly-Ruth Mercier
Leo Award-winner David Richmond-Peck has bridged both film & television & comedy & drama successfully, making him one of Canada’s most visible actors. He’s worked in: SANCTUARY, SMALLVILLE, STARGATE, ROBSON ARMS and nearly every other series shot in Vancouver.
Kelly-Ruth holds an M.F.A. (Directing) and a B.A. (Acting). She continues to work as a performer, director, producer, writer, singer, instructor, story editor and visual effects producer. She has guest-starred on THE L WORD, ROBSON ARMS, BATTLE IN SEATTLE, FANTASTIC FOUR 2, and too many more productions to mention!
