Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online/Live | On-site/In-house | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' This course provides practicing engineers with an introduction to block codes, convolutional codes, trellis codes, and turbo codes. For block codes: BCH code design (including Reed Solomon), BCH performance limits, decoding algorithms (Peterson-Gorenstein-Zierler, Forney, Berlekamp-Massey, Euclidean). For convolutional and trellis codes: state diagrams and trellis diagrams, the Viterbi decoding algorithm, determining proper traceback depth, algorithms for tight bit error rate characterization. For turbo codes: constituent code design criteria, interleaver design criteria, nonlinear turbo codes for improved performance. To participate in this online course, reliable Internet access and a PC computer with Internet Explorer (latest version) or a Macintosh computer with the latest version of Firefox or Safari (Mac 10.3 or higher) is required. ...''
