Course Description:
'' The advancements of the last century changed forever our studies of the Universe on its very largest scales. The development of large, sensitive and fast telescopes combined with the instrumentation of particle physics enable direct astronomical and physical tests of the theories and views about the creation and evolution of the Universe. This course will outline the progress of the physical cosmology and the observational tools which shaped a modern view of our Universe. The origin and the future of our Universe will be described in the framework of the most significant cosmological discoveries, including the expansion of the Universe, dark matter and dark energy. The latest ideas on dimensionality and topology of the Universe will be introduced for completeness. The basic general knowledge of astronomy is desirable. ...''
