'' This in-depth course in Child Psychology will provide you with an amazing insight into the development of children and will help you understand the things and situations that can affect how a child behaves.

PROGRAMME CONTENTS

Essentials of Psychology
Introduces students to the relationship between biology and behavior. Includes such topics as consciousness, memory, thought and language, intelligence, personality and gender, stress, and community influences

Child Psychology
Presents a variety of theoretical viewpoints to provide students with a well-balanced view of a child�developmental process from birth through adolescence. Includes current studies and research that provide an understanding of the principal topics of child psychology as well as recent trends in socially relevant problem areas.

Child Development
Introduces students to growth and development as it occurs in children from infancy to 12 years of age

Adolescence & Emerging Adulthood
Introduces students to development of children from 13 to 18 years of age.

Developmental Issues in Child Psychology
Compares normal and abnormal child development.

Developmental Disorders in Childhood
Introduces specific disorders, such as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, mental retardation, and learning disabilities. Concludes with an examination of substance abuse and eating disorders.

Working with Gifted Children
This module looks at the other spectrum of special needs ?children with talents and those who are gifted. This module looks at the other spectrum of special needs ?children with talents and those who are gifted.

Statistics & Research
Provide students with knowledge of research methods and statistical tools used in psychology research.

Psychological Assessments
An overview of psycho-educational assessment issues, psychometric approaches and instruments for testing.

Family & Child Counseling
