'' UNIT - I Role and development of Agricultural co-operative Marketing Societies. -Indian farmers and Marketing disabilities -Definitions, Roles, Aims and Objects, advantage of Co-operative marketing, Need for Co-operative marketing in India, Historical growth of Co-operative marketing in India, Marketing structure (NAFED), Reasons for slow progress and some important suggestions. Salient features of Agro-processing co-operative societies in India with reference to Co-operative sugar factories - Origin role, Membership, Structure, Management - Progress - Problems of Co-operative sugar factories in India and suggestions. UNIT - II Dairy Co-operatives - Introduction - Need for Dairy development Structure, some problems and suggestions. Formation of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). Industrial Co-operatives : Meaning Objectives and Advantages of Industrial Co-operatives-sources of Finance. Industrial Co-operative Banks and Structure of Industrial Co-operatives (NFIC). Problems and suggestions. Role of facilitating agencies such as Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) - Co-operative Industrial Estates and Co-operative Industries-Perspective planning for the development - Weavers Co-operatives - Rivitalizing Handlooms, Need for Integrated Structure. Role of Commercial Banks in Financing Village Industries. UNIT - III Role and Development of consumer Co-operative in India - Origin and Development - Progress in India - Programme in the Five Year Plan - Organisational Structure (NCCF) Consumers Co-operative in Rural Areas and Co-operative services to rural consumers. Involvement of Co-operative in the PDS (Public Distribution System) - The Nature of Problem of consumer Co-operatives.
