'' Business has changed. What was once a stable and predictable environment is today a global arena with new competitors, changing technology and shifting markets and fluctuating monetary conditions - all in a corporate atmosphere of mergers, downsizing, restructuring and uncertainty.

Management’s challenge is to develop the processes effectively to implement its vision and strategy. It is no longer enough to build good plans but to be able to effectively lead in the execution of these plans. Leadership and the essential behaviours of business leaders is a critical element of a successful business. Building a successful business begins with the right leadership to bring about development of good plans and effective execution of those plans.

Taking risks and innovating and empowering teams, establishing a common purpose/shared vision and adopting entrepreneurial initiatives are all part and parcel of what organisations are striving for. With businesses becoming more cross-functional, the management of cross functional teams skills require significantly different and new mindsets.
