'' On completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of; basic musical elements such as rhythm, harmony, form and structure; the Reason software system; and fundamental mixing and signal processing techniques. This course is ideal for novice users of Reason and educators who wish to incorporate technology within existing music courses (high school or post secondary).

Class 1 - Musical elements and ideas. Introduction to Reason user interface. Class 2 - Introduction to mixing in Reason. Class 3 - Working with rhythm patterns and phrases. Class 4 - Original song I. Creating drum tracks. Class 5 - Original song II. Building a bass line. Class 6 - Original song III. Lead lines and harmonies. Class 7 - Original song IV. Arranging and editing.
