Understand the basics of “Engineering Systems Think� Understand the difference between systems engineering and systems management
Understand the roles and responsibilities of Systems Engineers
Understand the difference between the Systems Engineer and the Project Manager
Utilize standard processes for engineering a system
Be able to choose an appropriate product lifecycle to guide systems development on a project
Analyze the customer or systems requirements and allocate them to software, hardware, firmware, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, peopleware, processes, etc.
Understand the importance of using the Quality Factors such as maintainability and expandability to determine the appropriateness of the systems architecture
Develop feasible functional, physical, and implementation architectures
Gain insight into interface development to ensure independent systems or components meet, act, or communicate appropriately with each other
Choose an integration strategy for the receipt, assembly, and evaluation of the product components that make up the final product
