Course Description:

'' The purpose of the course is:

to get students to become familiar with the fundamental logic of corporate financial decision making;
to expand students’ knowledge of the basic concepts and tools of financial decision making; and
to apply the concepts, tools and logic in making decisions with regard to portfolio choice, capital expenditure, capital structure, dividend policy and in other areas in corporate finance.
As with the first introductory course, the emphasis is on intuition and principles rather than information and techniques. The goal is to help students develop thinking/analytical skills required for successful careers in finance rather than to accumulate a lot of financial information. While concrete "real world" examples will be an integral part of the course, the primary emphasis of the course is to sharpen students’ analytical ability.
