'' The Project Procurement Management knowledge area focuses on the planning, decision making, coordination, and execution that go into procurement. Procurement involves a buyer organization engaging an outside seller (vendor or contractor) to provide goods or services.

You need to understand Project Procurement Management to prepare for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification exam. The PMP exam is structured largely on a framework of concepts and terms taken from A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, 2000 Edition (PMBOK® Guide). The PMBOK Guide is published by the Professional Management Institute (PMI®) and is intended to summarize the body of knowledge within the project management profession.

Prerequisites
Before taking this course, students should meet the PMP exam registration requirements set forth by the Project Management Institute, which include significant project management work experience.

The courses PMP® Exam Prep: Orientation and PMP® Exam Prep: Project Management Framework are recommended but not required.
